Ajit Doval, IPS, PPM, KC, PM, and current National Security Advisor. He is the 5th Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India. He previously served as Director of Intelligence Bureau in 2004-05, after spending a decade as Head of an Operation Wing. Under his supervision, the 2016 ballot airbatt was operated on February 26, 2019, on the Indian Line of Control, in 2016, 29, 2016 and 2019.
Ajit doval was born on 20 January 1945 in the preceding United Provinces of Uttarakhand. he is from a Garhwali family. His father’s name was Gunanad Doval, He was an officer in the Indian Army. Ajit studied from King George Royal Indian Military School, Ajmer, Rajasthan. In 1967, he received a master’s degree in economics from Agra University. In 2017, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree in Agra University and his contribution in strategic and security matters in science and literature from Kumaon University in May 2018, respectively.

In 1968, He joined the IPS in the Kerala cadre. He was actively involved in anti-insurgency operations in Mizoram and Punjab. Specifically, he has the experience of joining all the 15 carriers of Indian Airlines to finish the plane from 2-1999. He led the IB’s operating wings for more than a decade and was also the founding president of Multi Agency Center (MAC), as well as the Joint Task Force on Intelligence (JTFI).
During the Mizo National Front (MNF) revolt, he won six out of seven commanders of Laldunga. For short periods in counter-terrorism operations, he was trained under the Indian National Security Advisor MK Narayanan. Prior to Operation Black Thunder to collect important information, he was inside the Golden Temple in Amritsar in 1988. He spent seven years in the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, Pakistan. He went to Kashmir in 1990 and persuaded militants (like Kuka Pere) to become rebel to target anti-India terrorists.
In January 2005, he retired as Director, Intelligence Bureau. In December 2009, he became the founder director of the Vivekananda International Foundation, a public policy think tank founded by Vivekananda Center. In addition to writing editorial portions for several leading newspapers and magazines, he has lectured on the security challenges and foreign policy objectives in the security think-tank in many famous government and non-government institutions, India and abroad.
In 2009 and 2011, he co-wrote two reports on “Indian Black Money Abroad in Secret Banks and Tax Havens”, along with others, leading as a part of the task force formed by BJP, among others. He has given guest lectures on strategic issues in IISS, London, Washington DC, Australia-India Institute, University of Melbourne, National Defense College, New Delhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie. He has also spoken at global events internationally, who cite the growing need for collaboration between the world’s prominent established and emerging people.
On May 30, 2014, he was appointed as the fifth National Security Adviser of India. In June 2014, he played an important role in ensuring the safe return of 46 Indian nurses who were trapped in a hospital in Iraq’s Tikrit. On June 25, 2014, he flew on a top secret mission to understand the situation on the ground and to make high-level contacts in the Iraqi government. On 5 july 2014, he handed over the nurses to the officers in Erbil city of ISIS and two specially arranged planes brought them back home in Kochi by the Indian government. he planned a military campaign against the terrorists running out of Myanmar. The mission was told to succeed with the number of 50 terrorist casualties.
He is widely credited for the theoretical change in Indian National Security Policy in relation to Pakistan. It is estimated that in September 2016, Indian surgical strikes in Pakistan were his brains, which were extremely effective in disabling the target of India. he is widely credited with Chinese Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar and Indian Ambassador to China, Vijay Keshav Gokhale to resolve Dokmal deadlock through diplomatic channels and negotiations. In October 2018, he was appointed as the Chairman of Strategic Policy Group (SPG), which is the first level of the three-level structure in the National Security Council and produces the nucleus of its decision making system.

He was the youngest police officer to receive the Police Medal for meritorious service.
He was awarded the President’s Police Medal.
In 1988, he was awarded the Kirti Chakra, one of the highest gallantry awards, which became the first police officer to receive a medal given in the first military honor.
