Anurag Basu is an Indian reality show-judge, director, actor, screenwriter and producer. He started his directorial career in television. He directed several TV serials like Tara, Star best sellers, kyun ki saans bhi kabhi bahu thi, kahani ghar ghar ki, Rooh and other. In addition to the TV serials, he turned to feature films. He directed many films such as Murder, Kites, Barfi! And other , and achieved success. Even, His film Barfi received an Oscar nomination.

His mother’s name was Deepshikha Bose, she was also a Theater Artist. Anurag has a brother named Abhishek basu. He studied from BSP Senior Secondary School, Madhya Pradesh (Now Chhattisgarh). Then, he took a B.Sc. degree in Physics Hons. from University Of Mumbai, Maharashtra. During his college years in Mumbai, he got an opportunity to assist in many projects in TV and film projects.

After that, he directed many serial like Saturday Suspense , Star best sellers, X-Zone, Ajeeb Dastaan, kahani ghar ghar ki and kyun ki saans bhi kabhi bahu thi . He started his own company and initially he produced TV serials for Zee TV and Sony Channel. His company’s popular shows were Manzilien Apni Apni, Miit, Thriller at 10, Rooh, Ke Hobe Biggest Fan, Love Story and Stories by Rabindranath Tagore. he is seen as a judge in Sony TV’s dance reality show ‘Super Dancer’. In Film:- He started his film career with the movie ‘Saaya’. In this film John-Abraham and Tara Sharma were in the lead role. This movie failed at the box office. He directed many films and achieved success such as Murder, Gangster, Life in a… Metro, Kites, Barfi! and Jagga Jasoos.
He has won many awards for his brilliant performance such as IIFA Awards, Filmfare Awards, Big Star Entertainment Awards, Zee Cine Awards, Colors Screen Awards, Times of India Film Awards, Star Guild Awards and Bollywood Hungama Surfers Choice Movie Awards.
