Ravichadran ashwin is an indian cricketer. He is known for both bowling and batting. In 2010, Ashwin got the chance to play for Team India. This was his first World Cup. In December 2006, he made his first class debut for Tamil Nadu and captained the side in the next season. He became the leading wicket-taker and player of the 2010 Champions League Twenty20 tournament in South Africa. He was also a part of the 2011 India World Cup winning team.
He made his Test debut against the West Indies and became the seventh Indian to take 5 wickets on Test debut. He took two five wickets and scored a century in that series and won Player of the Series award. In 2014, he was the BCCI International Cricketer of the Year for the Arjuna Award and 2012-14 season. He has earned a reputation as a bowling allrounder with four centuries in his Test career. In December 2016, he won the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2016.

In October-November 2013, he became the leading wicket-taker in the domestic ODI series against Australia. In 2014, he was part of the Indian team visiting England. He played his first Test match in the fourth match in which he scored 40 and 46 not out. In 2015, he was selected to represent India for the ODI World Cup in Australia-New Zealand. In November 2015, Ashwin was a star cast in the Freedom Trophy Test series against India in South Africa. On New Zealand’s tour of India in 2016, Ashwin took 27 wickets in 3 Test matches. International Cricket Council nominated Ashwin for ICC Cricketer of the Year and ICC Test Cricketer of the Year.
Indian Premier League career :-
In 2009, He started his IPL career with Chennai Super Kings. He won two consecutive IPL titles with Chennai Super Kings in 2010 and 2011. In the 2016 season, Ashwin took his 100th wicket against Kings XI Punjab in a four wicket win. On January 27, 2018, Ashwin was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs 78 crore in the 2018 IPL auction. On February 26, it was announced that he will be the captain of Kings XI Punjab.
Ashwin is number two in both bowlers and all-rounders in Test cricket till 2017.
Ashwin is the first Indian cricketer to be awarded Man of the Match on the debut.
Ashwin was the fastest Indian bowler to reach 100 Test wickets in his 18th Test match and the fifth fastest bowler in the world.
Ashwin is the highest Test wicket taker with 72 scalers in 2016.
In the India’s 2016-17 home season, Ashwin took 64 wickets in 13 Tests, and became the highest wicket taker for India in a single domestic season.
