Gautam Gambhir’s Personal Life, Age, Height, Career, Award and other information

Gautam Gambhir is a young Indian cricketer. He is one of only Indian and four international cricketers who have scored centuries in five Test matches. He play all the formats of the game. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Bangladesh in 2003. From the end of 2010 to the end of 2011, he led the Indian team in six ODIs and India won all six matches. In the final of the 2011 Cricket World Cup (122 to 9 7), he played an integral part in India’s victory.

He is the only Indian batsman who has scored more than 300 runs in four consecutive Tests. By April 2018, he is the sixth highest run scorer for India in Twenty20 Internationals. In 2008, Gautam was given the Arjuna Award by India’s President, India’s second highest sports award. In 2009, he was the number one ranking batsman in the ICC Test rankings. In the same year, he was the recipient of the ICC Test Player of the Year Award.

During the quarter-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2018-19, in the year 2018, he scored his 10,000th in List A Cricket. In December 2018, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

Personal life :-

Gautam was born on October 14, 1981 in New Delhi. His father’s name is Deepak , he manages the textile industry.  His mother’s name is Seema gambhir .he has a sister ekta. He started playing cricket at the age of 10. He studied from Modern School new delhi. And He graduated from the Hindu College of Delhi University. Gautam was trained by Sanjay Bhardwaj and Raju Tandon of Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy in Delhi. Gautam was selected for the first intake of the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore in 2000.

If you talk about gautam’s love life then he married Natasha jain . She is related to a major business family. They have two daughters , aazeen gambhir and anaiza gambhir.

Career :-

International debut :- He started playing cricket at the age of 10. He made two consecutive double centuries in 2002. He made strong contenders for India’s initial slot in all three forms of the game. In 2003, he made his Odi debut against Bangladesh in the TVS Cup. In his third match, he scored 71 and was named Man of the Match. In 2004, he started his Test match against Australia in the fourth and final Test match of the Borderward Gavaskar Trophy, but he did not have any advantage in getting himself out for 3 and 1, he revised his second Test, however, South Africa’s Scored 96 runs against

In 2005 against Pakistan, he made many starts in the domestic series, but he was able to make only one half-century in six innings. He played many ODIs for India between 2005 and 2007. However, he was not picked for the 2007 World Cup because selectors chose the top order of Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar. In 2007, Gautam was selected for Bangladesh’s one-day international tour of Bangladesh. He made his second century score on that tour and later was selected for the One Day International on the tour of Ireland in 2007. He scored an unbeaten 80 in the first game against Ireland.

In 2007 Gautam was selected in the India team for ICC World Twenty20, which India won in South Africa and defeated Pakistan in the final. This tournament ended as India’s top run-scorer, scoring 227 runs at an average of 2273, which included three half-centuries. In which 75 runs in 54 balls against Pakistan in the final was an important contribution. In the 2007-08 CB series, he scored an unbeaten 102 in Gabba against Sri Lanka in a rain-fed match. He scored 113 runs against 119 against Australia, which India lost by 18 runs in a high scoring match. He finished the CB series with 440 runs as the leading run-scorer.

In 2008, he strengthened his position with a string of high scores in the Indian Test team. He scored 858 runs from 61 runs in seven matches, including a double century against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He was the leading run-scorer against New Zealand in the Test series against England in December 2008 and early 2009. He played his first big Test series outside of the subcontinent. In 2009 he visited New Zealand. In the second Test, he made a match by scoring 137 in the second innings. He made 167 runs to give India unavailable leadership in the second innings of the third Test, but the rain hung New Zealand’s batsmen for a draw. He scored 445 runs in six innings with an average of 89 runs, 41 years later, winning the series 1-0 in that country.

Indian premier league :-

Gautam was bought by the Delhi Daredevils franchisee at the first auction of the Indian Premier League at a price of US $ 725,000 annually. He became the second highest run-getter of the inaugural season with 534 runs in 14 matches. He was promoted to the post of captain of Delhi Daredevils for the IPL season 2010. Gautam Gambhir was in the 2011 IPL Player auction. Who brought a bid of $ 2.4 million from Kolkata Knight Riders. Then he was appointed the captain of the team. Gambhir is the leading run-scorer of Kolkata Knight Riders.

He became the second player to score 2000 runs in the history of IPL and the second highest run scorer in the tournament. He beat Kings XI Punjab by three wickets and won his second title of Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014. On January 27, 2018, at the 2018 IPL auction, he bought Delhi Daredevils for £ 2.8 million. And he was appointed captain. On 25 April, Gambhir left the captaincy, citing the team’s poor performance, and announced Shreyas Iyer as the new captain of Delhi Daredevils.

Captaincy :-

In 2010, Gautam was appointed the captain of the national team in the ODI series against New Zealand. He helped to seal the series by making an unbeaten 150 in the fourth match in kolkatta, which gives the hosts victory in the run-chase. In December 2011, he returned as captain of the team in the India match against the West Indies. In the Cricket World Cup 2011 final, Gambhir scored 97 runs in 122 balls. In 2011, India’s batting line-up test got away especially from home. India gave away just 300 runs and the first two batsmen failed to score a hundred in the format throughout 2011.

Gautam batted in India’s four Test defeat against Australia in 2011-12. He scored 181 runs at an average of 22.62. On 12 February 2012, he helped India win its first match against hosts by making 92 runs on 111 balls in ODIs against Australia in the Adelaide Oval. Gambhir won the Man of the Match award for his effort. In August 2012, the Indian selection committee handed him the vice captaincy of the T20 team to the World Cup.

Retirement :-

Gautam Gambhir announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, before his last match for the Delhi cricket team against the Andhra Cricket team in the Ranji Trophy on December 6, 2018.
